Pandemic Projects

One thing this pandemic has given me is unexpected time!  I plowed through a stack of unfinished projects including these two quilts. 

Christmas Dresses

Only three Christmas dresses this year and all the same pattern! Simplicity pattern #8755 is quick and easy!  I used stretch velvet.

Anna's Birthday Dress

Not the best picture, but I do really love this little dress!  It is McCall's pattern #6915. This pattern is super easy, but I do think I liked it a bit better made from a little heavier knit like this.

Darla

Sparkly Skirt and Sweater

My granddaughter requested a sparkly skirt for her birthday so I made her a very simple skirt and of a washable fabric and a cute little sweater to go with it.

I used Simplicity pattern #1332 .  It was a pretty easy pattern.  I also made a matching outfit for her doll.

Border Print Dress

I saw this beautiful fabric and knew it was just what I needed for another granddaughter dress!  I made it pretty simple to show off the pretty embroidery.  It has buttons up the back.

Simplicity 8349 Tweaked Just a Little

Here is Simplicity Pattern 8329.  I made this dress just like the pattern with the addition of a 1" band and some piping to length the bodice.  Of course she needed a matching dolly dress!

Doll dress is Simplicity 8360.  Both of these were pretty easy to make.

Bouncy, Stretchy and Twirly!

My granddaughter said that this dress was bouncy, stretchy, and twirly and that she loved it!  What more could you want in a dress!

I used Simplicity pattern #6538.  I made no changes to the pattern.

Baby Boy Quilt

I started this quilt a long, long, time ago!  Finally, a cute little reason to finish it!

Just in the Nick of Time

Only the binding left on one of four little quilts for the bunk beds where our grandkids sleep.  I used the same fabric and pattern, but didn't worry about making them exactly the same.  I hand quilted one of the quilts and then used the other three as a good excuse to practice with my new Bernina Stitch Regulator.  

Time to concentrate on prom dresses now!

Six Little Dresses

I made this cute dress six times this Christmas.  I Didn't manage to get pictures of the last couple.

I think the girls look adorable in their dresses, although the youngest (not pictured) doesn't like "those things on the sleeves!"  I told her I'd make the ruffles smaller or take them off.  She's still trying to decide!

I'm Loving Knits!

I've been finding some super cute knits lately and I love sewing with them! I made this cute little dress was made using McCall's pattern # 7274.  I followed the pattern but left off the top ruffle and the net trim.  I did adjust the ruffle length for better proportion.  Very easy!

Baptism Dress

We have a cute little granddaughter that just turned eight!  I told her I'd make her a dress for her baptism.  I really envisioned a lace dress, but had trouble finding

what was in my mind. Isn't that always the case!  Anyway, I just happened to see this pretty eyelet the other day and knew I'd found the right fabric.  Here's what I came up with.  Hope she likes it.  Also, hope it fits!  It's hard sewing long distance!

Pretty In Pink

The first time I saw New Look pattern #6487  I thought of one of my granddaughters.  I love shirt dresses and thought this was a pretty cute one!  I followed the patterned exactly and added a little belt with a D-ring closure.  Hope she likes it!

Pretty in Pink

 I made this dress for the second time starting with Simplicity pattern #1433.  I added some decorative stitching along the neckline and a little ribbon belt.  This dress is not hard, but watch the seam allowances--some are only 3/8".

Baptism Gift

Just a little something I make for the children getting baptized in our ward.  A journal and bookmark-pen holder.

Summer Dress

I love a seersucker summer dress and this is a really cute one!   I used Burda pattern #9417.  I don't believe that it is still available, but it was pretty easy.

Dollhouses now available

I'm still working on a pattern for these little cuties, but I do have a couple of them available here.

6 Little Twirly Skirts

I made six of these little cuties for Christmas. The skirt was super simple with a quilted band in the front.

Birthday Skirt

This cute skirt was made fromMcCall pattern #6984.  Easy and cute!

This McCall's Pattern #6915 is super easy and super cute!

When I first saw this cute fabric I knew I needed to make this skirt.  Here it is--just in time for another granddaughter's birthday!

The fabric is from the Modern love collection by Lizzie B Cre8ive .

Here's the birthday girl trying on her new skirt.  Looks like she saved a little birthday cake for later!

Something For Me!

On a recent trip to New York I made a quick (because I had husband and son along) visit to Mood Fabrics.   I found this beautiful silk and finally got a cute simple top put together.  It's perfect!  Just what I wanted!

I liked this little dress so well I made it again!  

Time For a Change

I realized I've been sewing with a lot woven fabrics lately and thought it was time for a change.  Here's a cute little knit dress that I fell in love with.  It was made from Simplicity pattern #8147.

My Cute granddaughter requested a dress with pockets and sleeves just below her elbow.  This dress was perfect.  The only change I made was to lengthen the sleeves just a bit.   If you have some experience with knits, this is a pretty simple dress.

Eyelet Love

I found this beautiful blue eyelet and knew I had to make something for a granddaughter.

Pretty cute!

I used Simplicity Pattern #1433.  The dress was pretty straightforward with a couple of exceptions.  First of all watch the seam allowances!  Some of them are only 3/8".  Secondly, I found the armholes to be super large for the size so I had to make adjustments.  Other than that, I think it's really a great little dress.

New Sewing Machine

I got a new sewing machine!  I love it!  I am a true blue Bernina girl so I finally decided on a special edition 530.  I wanted to experiment with my new toy so I took a little break from work sewing and made these cute pillowcases for the grandkids.  I think they made a cute Valentine's Day Gift!
